to ask for it). Saturday was my fun day, yesterday was my relaxing day and today is my "git 'er done" day.

My first task of the day: calling my credit card company to see why I lost rewards points last month. A little explanation first...it wasn't until a few years ago that I finally switched from a no-frills credit card to one that earns 2% cash back. I was a little irritated that I was the one who had to initiate the switch; it was never offered to me as a longtime "valued" customer, but I can see why, as it didn't benefit them (also, I'm already a "deadbeat" to them because I've literally never had a balance on my cc). I've been letting my points accumulate, figuring I'd use them for a "rainy day", or maybe an unexpected big expense. Not that I have a ton of points accumulated...as of last month, I was at just over 13,000 points, and with my cc, 100 points = $1. When I opened my statement for this last pay period, I saw I had supposedly "redeemed" (not lost or forfeited) 1250 points. Um...how?

So this morning, I did what the younger folks all dread: I called my cc company to find out what happened. After a ridiculously long time going through the automated options and pressing buttons, I finally got through to a very nice person who checked my account and told me I'd redeemed my points at CVS last month. I remembered that transaction...I thought I was redeeming rewards from CVS, not from my cc company. Also, I didn't know (until today) that unless I'm talking directly to my cc company, I can only redeem 10% of my available points. Apparently, I would've gotten an email from my cc company letting me know what happened but they didn't have my email on file. I don't bank online and really don't have any interest in doing so at this point.

Anyways...I asked the very nice representative if she could add my email to my account and she regretfully told me she was unable to do so but she would transfer me to someone who could. Which of course sent me right back into the phone options system *sigh*. I finally got a person on the line who spoke very softly; I was having a little trouble hearing her. But after verifying again that I am who I said I was, I was finally able to set up my email with my cc company. Looking forward to all the useless sales/promos that will shortly be hitting my inbox </sarcasm>.

I've also knocked two other small things off my to do list, so I'm taking a wee break and playing on my computer.
