The room passed inspection
after the patio was removed. The patio is in the works now.
The footers didn't pass, then I changed my mind/requirements for the patio. It's going to be a covered patio. The person installing it said that I could just add the new room (the future laundry room) later...then the inspector said that the concrete would have to be removed because the footers that were inspected were only for holding up the roof. They weren't the kind for load bearing walls. So, I had to have the person doing the patio amend the approved plan and add different footers that will be inside the perimeter of the patio forms (12 inches from the form and 12 inches deep) and add rebar and blocks. That was yesterday's work.
Today, the inspector returned and it passed! The landscaper should pour next week. If all goes well, that part of the project will be completed by the beginning of May. Then comes the landscaping.
I'm planning to call my regular plumber to have the water line run from one side of the house to the other. It's almost $2K, but I think it will be worth it.
Summer will be nice with a covered patio.
