We're going with semi-custom cabinets from Lowe's. Just over $10K [for] the lower cabinets (a little over 8' long), a
wide upper cabinet on the right side, two smaller/narrower upper cabinets on the left side over the washer and [dryer] (They'll be close enough and each one with a single door that opens in opposite directions so it looks like they're one wide cabinet...almost the same size in total [as] the wide cabinet on the other side), and a small lower cabinet that will be [on the other side of the room,] next to the refrigerator that will serve as a coffee/smoothie station. The
wide lower cabinet will have a 33"(?) work station sink but it will still have plenty of room to use the counter for folding laundry, rotating small appliances in and out, and setting out food after a barbecue and such. [Oh, instead of a garbage disposal, I'm having a Sepura composting garbage disposal installed. (Link:

- I ordered two from Amazon when the company/Amazon agreed not to sell the product. It was half price, so I got two
and the weird attachment device that you sometimes need if it doesn't sit exactly in the right location under the sink.]
In theory, I'll get a quote tomorrow about the full cost from cabinets through installation including the taxes. I'll also have a timeline for installation. The estimate in three to six weeks. We're having the patio done starting next week, so even at three weeks, we should be able to get it done by going through the backyard and the patio. [The sink will also have a reverse osmosis, water filtration system [which has to be cut into the granite countertop]. A local tile and countertop place is going to come and do a template for a granite countertop for the lower cabinets with a backsplash for the long cabinet.] I will try to delay the installation until after the patio is done. [The plan is to pour the concrete next week, then spend about a week working on the cover.]
After the patio is done, I'm finally going to be able to order the gutters. The new room and covered patio change the perimeter of the house, so I can't order gutters until the patio is done. The gutters should feed into a water catchment system that I'm trying to order. We need to discuss size and sequencing - before or after the landscaping is done. [I've spoken with my solar guy about adding batteries...we'll need to work on location and timing for that, too.]
I told my finance guy that I wanted my home to be my oasis. I'm finally getting the oasis done...no camels.
