reenacted the Last Supper. Which yes, had I seen it before I posted last night, I would've added that caveat to my praise. Please understand I have nothing against drag queens. Drag is an art, and drag queens are beautiful and often very talented. But as an evangelical Christian, I find it...problematic at best, distasteful and maybe flat out disrespectful of Christians to take what is one of one of our most holy images and use drag queens--who many evangelical Christians would be opposed to for a number of reasons--to recreate it. Some Christians are calling the portrayal a mockery of Christianity...and as I understand ethics these days, if a group of people find something offensive, we should listen to them and be sensitive to their opinions. I did a quick Google...I couldn't find any correlation between either the story of the Last Supper or the painting and France, so it didn't really make sense to stage a recreation of it in Paris for the Olympics.
