I really like Mariko, too. I don't know that I like Blackthorne but he can be entertaining, like his whole hissy fit over the "virtue of women" to protect Toranaga's hiding spot this past episode. That was funny. He and Vasco are good together. It took me like half of the first episode to realize Vasco was played by Nestor Carbonell. That beard really makes him look different.
