Clearing your browser's cache

If you're using a web browser not listed, see your browser's documentation or online help for instructions on how to clear your browser's cache or temporary files folder.
Netscape Navigator or Communicator 4.0 (Macintosh)
- From the Edit menu, choose Preferences.
- Click the triangle next to Advanced to display the Advanced categories.
- Click Cache.
- Click Clear Disk Cache Now.
- Click OK.
- Under "Page in cache is compared to page on network," click Every Time.
- Click OK.
- From the File menu, choose Quit.
- Restart Netscape and see if the problem happens again.
Netscape Navigator or Communicator 4.0 (Windows)
- From the Edit menu, choose Preferences.
- Click the plus sign next to Advanced to display the Advanced categories.
- Click Cache.
- Click Clear Disk Cache.
- Click OK.
- Click Clear Memory Cache.
- Click OK.
- Under "Document in cache is compared to document on network," click Every Time.
- Click OK.
- From the File menu, choose Exit.
- Restart Netscape and see if the problem happens again.
Netscape Navigator 2.0 or 3.0 (Macintosh)
- From the Options menu, choose Network Preferences.
- Click the Cache tab.
- Click Clear Disk Cache Now.
- Click OK.
- Next to Check Documents, click Every Time.
- Click OK.
- From the File menu, choose Quit.
- Restart Netscape and see if the problem happens again.
Netscape Navigator 2.0 or 3.0 (Windows)
- From the Options menu, choose Network Preferences.
- Click the Cache tab.
- Click Clear Disk Cache Now.
- Click OK.
- Click Clear Memory Cache Now.
- Click OK.
- Next to Verify Documents, click Every Time.
- Click OK.
- From the File menu, choose Exit.
- Restart Netscape and see if the problem happens again.
Microsoft Internet Explorer 4.0 (Windows)
- From the View menu, choose Internet Options.
- Click the General tab.
- In the Temporary Internet Files box, click Delete Files.
- Click OK.
- Click Settings.
- Under "Check for newer versions of stored pages", click Every visit to the page.
- Click OK.
- Click OK.
- From the File menu, choose Exit.
- Restart Internet Explorer and see if the problem happens again.
Microsoft Internet Explorer 3.0 (Macintosh)
- From the Edit menu, choose Preferences.
- Click Advanced.
- Next to Update Pages, click Always.
- Click Empty Now.
- Click OK.
- From the File menu, choose Quit.
- Restart Internet Explorer and see if the problem happens again.
Microsoft Internet Explorer 3.0 (Windows)
- From the View menu, choose Options.
- Click the Advanced tab.
- In the Temporary Internet Files box, click Settings.
- Under "Check for newer versions of stored pages", click Every visit to the page.
- Click Empty Folder.
- Click Yes.
- Click OK.
- Click OK.
- From the File menu, choose Exit.
- Restart Internet Explorer and see if the problem happens again.
America Online 3.0 (Macintosh)
- From the Members menu, choose Preferences.
- Click the Web icon.
- Click Empty Cache.
- Click OK.
- Log off and restart AOL and see if the problem happens again.
America Online 3.0 (Windows)
- From the Members menu, choose Preferences.
- Click the WWW icon.
- Click the Advanced tab.
- Click Settings.
- Click Every visit to the page.
- Click Empty Folder.
- Click Yes.
- Click OK.
- Click OK.
- Close the Preferences window.
- Log off and restart AOL and see if the problem happens again.
America Online 4.0 (Macintosh)
- From the My AOL menu, choose Preferences.
- Click the WWW icon.
- Click Empty Cache Now.
- Click OK.
- Log off and restart AOL and see if the problem happens again.
America Online 4.0 (Windows with Internet Explorer 4.0)
- From the My AOL menu, choose Preferences.
- Click the WWW icon.
- Under Temporary Internet Files, click Settings.
- In the Settings dialog box, click Every visit to the page.
- Click OK.
- Click Delete Files.
- Click OK.
- Click OK.
- Close the Preferences window.
- Log off and restart AOL and see if the problem happens again.
