So yesterday I got home from work and Mr. Kris came up to tell me that when he was folding the laundry (or possibly putting it in the dryer, not sure) he found that Jack's little Pokémon binder was in one of the pockets of his pants.
It's a binder barely bigger than cards. And in it, he keeps his VERY FAVORITE Pokémon cards ever. I don't know how many he had in there, but there were three he was very upset about. Apparently he had been nearly hysterical when he found out.
I felt soooooo bad. Yes, I know it's on him to clean out his pockets, but I also should have checked. It's odd I didn't feel it in there, but I wasn't looking for it either. Earlier this week he left a purple crayon in his shorts after we'd eaten out somewhere. Spoiler alert: half my towels and some underwear now has purple streaks on them. Most of it came out during the second wash, not on the underwear though lol.
One of the cards is available at the local game shot for $114. YES ONE HUNDRED DOLLARS. For a Pokémon card!!! We found one on eBay for $25, the one he had was from Japan and he had traded for it. Then we found one on eBay that was Korean instead, and $5 cheaper, so he asked for that one instead because it was unique. All in all, I spent $48 on Pokémon cards for him because I felt bad. Thankfully I'd gotten my Rakuten rebate a day before and that more than covered it.
He's still sad about the Psyduck cards that were ruined, though. Hopefully the new ones will come in soon and be in good enough condition!
