We wanted to go to the top of the Washington Monument but couldn't get tickets. Maybe another time and we'll plan for it in advance. Evidently that is key.
that's good to know. My trips into DC are usually relatively spontaneous when visiting my sister - we rarely plan it in advance.
If we had known... oh well.

Friday was just over 22,000 and Saturday was 37,906.

i'm glad you got away for a quick trip. I haven't been to dc in probably 10+ years and i should go again, as well.
With DC only being about 4-5 hours (even with traffic) it made for a nice quick trip.
