the night of July 4th. And every year without fail, when they show the part where they play the Armed Forces' medley and show the proud men and women in the crowd standing, saluting and sometimes singing along, I cry like a baby. Not trying to be political here...I get that for some people, it's hard to be proud to be an American. But I love seeing the folks who are willing to fight, and even to die, for this country and its citizens get the recognition they deserve.
(and yes, as Dad was a Marine, I sing along loudly with The Marines' Hymn).
