you need a dress shoe to go with a dressy outfit. As someone who has trouble finding shoes that fit, and as someone who's on my feet a LOT, I'm generally ALL for comfortable footwear. But the 90 year old great-grandmother in me sees tennis shoes with a suit or a dress and automatically thinks "Good heavens, no!" <g>.
