"Enclosed space" is relative. The windows and doors are installed. Today they installed the insulation. They've put the under structure(?) for the roof up, so, in theory, rain won't get into the room when it rains. HOWEVER, the doors are still held in place with shims and no trim or drywall, so there are air gaps. I've been covering the spaces with duct tape. I put a grocery bag with a towel in it in the extra hole in the door...since the workers installed the handle for the door. The blocking of the gaps is more important right now because we've gotten a freeze advisory. (Bring in the soft plants.)
The insulation has been installed in the rafters before the drywall is installed...possibly Monday. They're not taking Veterans Day off. They didn't take Columbus Day off either. That was their first day.
The cement's been poured into the trench in the bathroom, so they'll be able to replace the tiles and put the toilet back in place next week(?). I think I've found the tile that they need to replace the baseboard in the bathroom. (The former contractor had guys working for him who were very creative artists. One of them took the plan of the living room from a little insulation and drywall next to the fireplace with floor to ceiling cabinets for my nativity scenes to drywall with tile up the wall above and around the mantle and hearth and the same tile on each of the windowsills so the dogs won't tear up the drywall when they try to look out the windows. That guy cut some leftover tiles from the remodel of the bathtub/shower area to make the baseboards. The tile is a light gray and he used dark gray grout above the vertical tile to attach the tile. Looks nice.)
Oh, one of the guys said that he was going to ask if he could take the patio door insert with the dog door for his father's dog, but he saw that it wasn't with the rest of the pieces from the patio door. I told him that I'd moved it behind the shed because I didn't want it to be misplaced or accidentally thrown away. I said he could have it, but he'd have to take the replacement flap that we'd gotten for the door. We'd planned to give it away, but we were going to replace the flap before we listed it. He gladly took the door and the flap. I'm still trying to get someone...anyone to take the two dual pane windows with the hurricane screens. I'd rather they didn't go into the landfill.
We're moving forward. I doubt we'll be done by Christmas, but it may be done well before the mid-February date. Keep your fingers crossed for me.
