So, the team that did the doors is back to work on the doors. We discussed the backward single door. My person at the company had texted that he'd ordered the wrong door The team thought about it for a while and said that they definitely can not just flip the door around. The door has a piece of rubber at the bottom that channels the water outside, so if the door were reversed...yeah, that won't work. They said that's it's a fairly standard door, so they can probably use it somewhere else.
I also told them about the second hole in the door between the new space and my kitchen. I don't want that hole. It's basically an interior door, so it doesn't need a deadbolt with a thumb lock or a double deadbolt that opens with keys on either side. Not sure how that will be resolved.
LOTS OF NOISE TODAY. The tools sound like a fairly lengthy guitar solo or a bad day at the dentist's office. They removed the old patio door between the kitchen area and the new space, but hung up a floor to ceiling piece of plastic to keep most of the dust and stuff from the remodel out, so I just have the dust and stuff from my normal living and terrible housework on my side. I don't remember which way the doors open. (One dog has already gone through the plastic sheet to "help" with the construction. No really that helpful.
I do know that one of the two kitchen doors has a half window (with blinds in between the panes of glass), and that door is supposed to be the fixed door with the dog door in it. The other door is full encapsulated blinds.
Good news: The guy in charge of the overall project will be coring/re-coring(?) the locks I bought, so I don't have to pay to have them done locally! We'll see how the day ends.
BTW, the 1100 lumens bulbs are nice in the exterior light. Not as harsh, very bright. I think I need to reset the sensor because it looks like it's not sensitive enough to activate the light when the dogs walk past it. That makes the dogs nervous at night. They don't like the light with the camera in the side yard because it plays some odd notes when it turns off. At least these are silent...but dark for them.
