...expecting more to happen? Jace dying, Otto dying (who seemed to have just been captured?), for the love of God CRISTON COLE DYING, and nothing really...happened?
Just, nothing. Nothing at all happened. LOL! It felt more like a set up to a finale than an actual finale.
I'm of the opposite mindset that I don't like character deaths being "foretold". This season alone you had both Daemon and Ameond told they would die soon. I'm a book reader so I know what's to come but, still, it takes some of the fun out of it to me. Imagine how less impactful reading (or watching) the Red Wedding would've been if someone had told Robb "You're gonna die at a wedding".
We watched Rhaena walk through the pastures for like 84 years only to NOT yet see her claim Sheepstealer? FFS, the pacing is driving me nuts.
Those scenes were ENDLESS! I was so bored by the time she finally found the dragon.
So Alicent just...straight up sold Aegon out, lol. I think he sucks too, but STILL. ALL of this, only to be like "Okay, you're right, I guess you do have to kill him."
Alicent is the worst mom. She's selling out Aegon, you know she'd sell Aemond out in a heartbeat, too. She sucks.
Rhaenyra is going to regret not vetting the dragonseeds a little better. I know, the dragon picks the rider, but still. Ulf clearly should not have the power of the equivalent of a nuclear weapon. Jace is still being a pretentious brat, but he's not wrong that Ulf is not behaving appropriately.
Ulf is a loose cannon. He has no real loyalty to Team Black. He could take his dragon and switch sides anytime it pleased him. I think Rhaenyra giving that kind of power to someone you can't really trust will backfire on her.
Allyn dragging Corlys for absolute FILTH may have been my favorite part of the episode, lol.
Definitely the best part. Corlys put everything in to his legitimate kids and now both are gone, his wife is gone. I'd be ticked off, too, if I were Allyn and Addam that he suddenly shows interest now, but only when it can benefit him.
