Alicent could've expressed remorse, could've expressed she wanted out, wanted to save Haelena and done it without her putting her sons' heads on the chopping block. It doesn't make her more sympathetic, it makes her less relatable IMO. I also don't care that much about Rheanyra and Alicent's relationship. They were children when they were friends. It was many years, a couple marriages, several kids and lots of dead people ago.
