to see fireworks two towns over. I've always accepted...but more for her than me. As much as I love to oooo and aaaaaah over fireworks, I hate the crowds, the mosquitos and the traffic.
For years, a local park near me has had certain events at which they've shot off fireworks. They're close enough that I could see the fireworks from my backyard. Mom would sometimes watch them from the kitchen, peering out of the window over the sink. And then some of the trees in the neighbors' yards grew too high for me to see the fireworks anymore :-(
