my aunt and uncle. it eventually got too expensive and too "much" for them - mainly because after 25 years or so, they wanted to do SOMETHING ELSE on the 4th than host a family party!
and that was fine, it WAS a 3 hour drive and an overnight stay for me.
then for a good 5/6 years I stayed local and did the fireworks at the beach thing, but after sitting in traffic for longer than the fireworks, i just didn't have it in me!
our local friends are usually out of town for the 4th, so it's looking like a quiet day for us.
