That is unfortunate timing. Do many homes have pools in your neck of the woods?
I would say pools are neither common nor uncommon. Only four neighboring homes on my street have pools; one is an in ground pool and the other three above ground pools. There's probably only a half dozen other homes on our block with pools...and that's still more than there were when I was growing up. I was very fortunate that our longtime neighbors on our left not only had an in ground pool, they also had a daughter around my age. We were best friends growing up...and part of that was because of that pool <g>. It was a shame though that my friend didn't love the pool nearly as much as I did. There were many summer afternoons where I'd be in the pool and she'd be on the deck reading a fashion magazine or playing with dolls or just "sunning herself" (because our generation was ignorant about the effects of the sun on our skin...or else we just didn't care).
I’m so glad you’re no longer working in that unairconditioned last workplace of yours this summer.
The latest forecast is for 95° every single day this week, finally dropping all the way down to 84° on Sunday. Some times I slightly regret quitting my last job...this week isn't going to be one of those times. Especially since the shift I worked, in the building I worked in, is no more; I'm reasonably sure had I still been working there, I would've been moved to Building 1, where many of the parts are manufactured. Not only is it also not air-conditioned, the machines in there throw off so much heat, it's usually considerably warmer in that building than in the other two buildings. I worked in Building 1 a handful of times--fortunately never in the summer--and would not want to be there this week even for a million bucks.
I think chihuahuas are cute. 😸
😊 I love dogs (and really, almost all animals) and are generally delighted by them. Unfortunately, I've known a handful of chihuahuas over the years and they've ALL been one of two ways. Either they're snarling, snapping, vicious little beasts (like the two across the street) or they're trembling fraidy cats who won't let you within a yard of them. They're awfully adorable though!
