this difficult time. I want to say I'm amazed but...I'm not really. I truly believe the posters here on SZ are among the best humanity has to offer, and I'm grateful for all of you.
On a related note...if you're a pet owner, please consider using Chewy to get your pet supplies. When Leo had to go on a special diet for renal failure (a diet he eventually ignored, preferring to eat the Spam Dad offered or the Reddi-Wip he got in the evenings as a treat), I signed up for an auto-ship with Chewy. The Royal Canin food is expensive, as some of you may know. When Leo passed, I still had an unopened 6.6 lb. bag of the renal support dry food. I went on Chewy's website to see if I could return it and found in the FAQ's a place to e-mail them the order number and inquire about the possibility of a return and refund. I sent them an e-mail explaining why I had to return the food and within 20 minutes, I got an absolutely lovely four paragraph e-mail first telling me they'd credit my Paypal $56 (and change) but couldn't accept the food back as it's a prescription food and then telling me how sorry they were to hear about Leo. They even said that if I ever needed to talk about him, I could send them an e-mail or maybe do a live chat. It was possibly the most compassionate thing I've ever heard from a big business and even though I don't currently have a need to patronize them (except maybe at Christmas when I buy for other people's pets), I'm telling everyone about what a great company Chewy is in hopes others will do business with them.
