time. I appreciate GoFundMe campaigns for people who need help paying medical bills or burying a loved one or even paying for legal counsel when they've been wronged. But then people started using GoFundMe to (try to) get people to pay for their destination wedding or their "dream" honeymoon or upgrade their ride from functioning small vehicle to luxury sedan or whatever. I know too many people who've been helped by GoFundMe, who've gotten help paying exorbitant medical bills to want to see the platform go away but I wouldn't mind if GoFundMe had some kind of board that reviewed requests for money to see if it's a "worthy" cause (for lack of a better word).
And as always, nobody forces anyone to donate to GoFundMe so ultimately it doesn't matter who's asking for money, for what cause, on the site.
