the job market was changing--I knew I wasn't going to bind books till I retired. But what's hard right now is everyone hiring is impatient and wants potential employees to be able to step right in and immediately contribute. Nobody's interested in training "the right person"; everyone wants their potential employee to have 1-3 years' experience in the field already. At least, that's what I'm encountering.
