one of my two bags. I heard the cashier shouting "Miss? MISS!" (which aw, I've not considered myself young enough to be a "miss" for at least 25 years <g>) and turned to see her holding my other bag. Another woman who was standing between me and the cashier grabbed the bag and handed it to me. I thanked her and told her I was in a rush to get out of there. She nodded and told me she HATES crowds and couldn't wait to leave herself.
This is the recipe I'm going to use when I make the mac and cheese Not only is the final product mouthwatering, the woman making the mac and cheese is absolutely delightful. I also learned a few things--I now always throw a bit of butter in when draining pasta to keep it from sticking together.
ETA--all that shopping yesterday, plus actually writing out a list and I *still* forgot a few ingredients. So after brunch with my good church friend today, I found myself at Meijer with even MORE people than I saw at Target yesterday. Luckily, I wasn't in there too terribly long...and my vow is to not set foot in a grocery store again until 2024!
