First though...this is what I affectionately refer to as my Christmas "h*ll week". I usually spend the second (or third) week of December frantically Getting Ish Done. Monday, I decorated the house (all except the tree, which Wahoo Daddy Scrooge has yet to put up for me). Tuesday was a card writing marathon because yes, I still love to send, and receive, Christmas cards. Yesterday was supposed to be going to see holiday lights with friends, but that got postponed so I started on the gift wrapping. For someone who only "officially" had three people to buy for, there's a shocking amount of wrapping...but I adore wrapping Christmas presents, so I don't mind. And today is finish the wrapping and get over to UPS to mail the "we're not going to exchange Christmas gifts this year but I got you guys a few small things anyways ~ Sis" package to Sis. I'm a bit salty about her breaking the agreement...salty but not a bit surprised.

Anyways...bff really wants a "platform bird feeder" this year for Christmas. As there's a tiny chance of her sister getting her one (she's told her sis and BIL over and over that she wants one...they rarely listen when she requests something specific), and since I know *nothing* about bird feeders of any kind, I just picked her up a gift certificate from a darling local mom and pop shop specializing in all things birds and birding. She can pick out what she wants, and if she somehow manages to get a bird feeder from her sis, well, she can keep the birds well stocked in birdseed next year. Since I love wrapping gifts and enjoy an occasional "trick" wrapping, I went out and bought a small wooden "paint it yourself" birdhouse at Dollar Tree. But I'm undecided whether to tape it to an old baking sheet I have and jokingly tell her it's her platform bird feeder or else write up some kind of thing about a cause she's passionate about and have that be the "platform", then roll it up and stick it in the birdhouse.

Thoughts?
