The "jarring tone" is what got me hooked on the show. It's very much what being in my head is like...
I was talking with the friend who got me to watch it, and both he and El Chico and I think it'd actually be better off as a limited series because while S2 is set up, it took them years to develop S1 and not everything needs a second season. Of course, if they really want it to be "Funny Aussie Broadchurch", they might have a plan for three seasons, but if the writers didn't plan for any other seasons, then I don't want something forced...so it depends.
I watched about ten minutes (if I even made it that far) of the pilot of Our Flags Mean Death and turned it off...*hides* I feel I'm the only one who doesn't like it lol.
