I may be wrong but I think I have a bit more perspective than many here on the SZ political board because I know more Republicans than many of you. The #1 thing I've heard when those Republicans that I personally know talked about Kamala Harris' campaign was that she spent too much time saying what Trump has done/would do and who he was and not enough time saying what SHE has done/would do and who SHE was. Would her talking more about her political strategies given her the edge? I don't know. I absolutely, 100% agree that some people voted against her simply because they didn't want a Black woman as the head of the country. But I absolutely KNOW some people did not vote for her because they weren't sure what her policies were.
What Republicans thought about Kamala’s campaign doesn't mean anything. Those aren't the voters she needed to convince. Fact is, in 2020 roughly 156mil voted and it was a high turnout. As of now, the 2024 election is around 138mil voters turned out. Trump got trounced in 2020 and ended up with less votes in 2024 but won quite easily. That speaks volumes on the actual enthusiasm of the voters in this election. I said this a few days ago, high turnout favors democrats, lower turnout favors Republicans. 2016 turnout went down and Hillary lost by a slim margin. 2020 record turnout, democrats won by a huge margin. This year, turnout went down.....Republicans won.
