Everyone thinks Todd did it. Killed Margaret that is. Everyone thinks he did it but Evangeline and Viki and Starr and... Rex. Blair has given up on him (again). The whole town thinks he’s scum, but they always thought that. Blair was supposed to stand beside him and she failed him, again. Granted, some sick and coercive games have been played on her by the “illustrious” Dr. Spencer Truman, but still... She kissed Spencer! She’s dreaming about Spencer - ICK! Let’s hope this Denton character opens his drunken mouth just one more time.

D.A. Hughes gives his final arguments starting with the melodramatic “Margaret Cochrane couldn’t be here today.” From there it got worse for Todd. All the evidence points to Todd. There’s a lot of evidence. All the witnesses believe Todd capable of murder - even his fiancee. Evangeline tries her best - emphasizing the fact that the D.A. has no actual proof that Todd did it. All the evidence presented was confusing and circumstantial. As the jury leaves for deliberations she tells Todd it’s 50/50. He thinks maybe he should have taken the plea bargain. Life in prison is alive. He knows he has been set up. He has no idea that Dr. Truman is currently paying off the key witness (Denton) for his role in convincing Blair that Todd killed his own baby. Denton has no idea that the gloves Dr. Truman is wearing are his “strangling extraneous players” gloves.

Asa is playing dumb about his New Year’s Eve “drunk,” to Clint anyway. He’s keeping the picture of the mystery lady in a locked desk drawer and hiring a PI to get the scoop on her and whoever planted her picture. He’s suspicious of Spencer but he can’t remember why. Asa’s none too pleased to find that Clint has invited Nash to stay at the house while in town. Asa, like the rest of Jessica’s family, believes that Nash is the devil incarnate. Clint seems to be the only one who realizes that Nash did not create Tess - he only loves her. Jessica, herself, feels that Clint is choosing sides - against her.

Viki and Jessica have been hinting to Natalie that she may be in denial of her true feelings for Cristian. Natalie is stubborn. She’s mad and she won’t be calmed. Cristian is stubborn too. He enlists Carlotta’s help in luring Natalie to the diner. Cristian makes coffee and tries to remind Natalie of why she loves him... and to woo her all over again. She starts to warm up and. realizing that, leaves. Cristian is stubborn, though, and patient.
