The new year is off and running for the good folks of Llandview.
Adrianna decides to go to Rex and let him know she really is in love with him. Rex - being Rex is trying to get over his bruised ego by being otherwise occupied with his hot assistant manager from Ultra Violet, Nina. To his credit he tells a crushed Adrianna that it was exactly what it looked like. Why is it that young love always seems to have the worse timing.
Adrianna goes home and just when she thought the day could not get any worse, finds Duke waiting for her hoping for a belated new years eve celebration. Adrianna with all her Dorian Lord temperament showing tells him that the relationship was over a long time ago and they need to both admit that and move on. Duke being a true Buchanan-assumes she wants to go running into Rex’s arms. Frustrated, Adrianna opens the door and sends him packing- you go girl!! Dorian arrives home and tries to reassure Adrianna that tough Kramer women always pull through the tough times. Somehow Adrianna is less than convinced.
Rex goes to Bo -for advice and a father/son like chat. Bo reassures him that things always have a way of working themselves out in the end. Rex remains less than convinced because he thinks that this time he may have really blown it.
Todd’s trial begins -Hugh and Evangeline square off and are ready for the fight. Huge - make no bones about Margaret being a disturbed woman, however, she deserved help not to be brutally murdered. In the middle of his opening statement Starr-who ditched school to be a court and support her father tells the court that her father didn’t do it -She is quickly swept out of the court room and sent back to school with Aunt Dorian. Starr is taking stand by my man lessons from her mother. Evangeline prepares the jury for the gory details that they have to look forward to-but in the end-Todd will be proven innocent. Blair is supportive of Todd and believes he is innocent-but is on the cell phone letting Spencer know she really needs a friend. As the trial is in recess Blair is left alone in the court room and breaks down sobbing-this stand by my man stuff can really take out of a girl some days.
John has not been cooperative with the department psychiatrist-and Bo sees him begin to get physical with a drug dealer he busted. Once again Bo warns John - he will be suspended if he does not cooperate with therapy. Bro Michael tries to encourage him to start talking about the real issue- dad’s death. Later Michael talks to Marci about sibling relationships. Marci lets him know that sometimes it is really hard to talk to him because his life seems so perfect and he never allows anything to get to him-for people like John and Marci that can be really irritating. She gave the good doctor a lot to think about.
