1.  What is the name of Wally's band?  Are they called the Idle Rich too?

    The Idle Rich on GH is really the KURTH & TAYLOR BAND, with

    Wally Kurth (*Ned/Eddie), Lead & Background Vocals/Acoustic Guitar
    Christian Taylor (*Gene), Lead & Background Vocals/Electric & Acoustic
	Guitar 
    Lee Beverly (*Sven), Bass Guitar/Vocals
    Jim Bloodgood (*Nick), Drums/Vocals
    Nick Chetkovich (*Jimmy), Piano/Organ
    Pat McCormack, Lead Guitar

    *Idle Rich/GH character name

2.  Does Wally Kurth or his band have an album out?

    The Kurth & Taylor Band has released 3 albums.

    A new album, their 3rd, titled "Nashville," was released  August 15, 1997.
    As the title says, the songs come from Nashville, or were written for 
    their Nashville gigs.  It is available by mail order.  The songs include
    "That Wouldn't Break My Heart," "Take It From Me," "Heartland Train,"
    "Too Good To Be Through," "If I'd Have Known," "You're The Livin' I've
    Been Workin' For," "Afraid Of The Rain," "So Many Teardrops" and "Till 
    I'm Over You."

    The second album, "half & half," released in May 1996 is available by 
    mail order.  The album is half electric, half acoustic.  The electric 
    songs include: "Love Is Lookin," "You'll Never Know," "All The Man You'll 
    Ever Need," "This Is What They Mean" and "Seventh Son."  The acoustic 
    songs include: "Believe My Love," "Road Less Traveled" (a new arrangement),
    "Even If I Wanted To," "I'm In Heaven"  and "Will You Stay."

    Previously, in December 1994, the band released their first album. 
    Entitled "Kurth & Taylor," it is NO LONGER AVAILABLE.  The album (tape 
    or CD) includes the "Idle Rich" songs "Road Less Traveled," "The Only One 
    I Love," "Just Because," "The Lyin' King" and "The End of the Road."  
    Other songs include a full band version of "Sea of Peace" which was on 
    Wally & C.T.'s acoustic album, "Sea of Peace" and C.T. singing "She's All 
    That Matters" and "Power of the Heart."  Additional songs include "Make 
    Believe," a song about Wally's job as a soap opera actor, and "Goin' 
    Home," (also known as "Montana Sky") a song about Montana, Wally's home 
    state.  Again, I repeat, this album is NO LONGER AVAILABLE.

3.  How do I order the Kurth & Taylor albums?

4.  It has been reported "Billboard Magazine" reviewed "The Only One I
    Love" and "This Is What They Mean."  What did they say?

An excerpt from the review of "The Only One I Love," which was reviewed
as an AC (adult contemporary single: 
     "Single has formidable muscle, given its romantic lyrics, soothing 
     acoustic/pop context, and engaging vocals - not to mention its 
     built-in audience of TV viewers.  AC radio would be a fine place 
     to begin the push for this highly notable offering, though top 40 
     may not be too far behind."      From [Billboard 1/28/95, pg 69] 
 
In addition it was rated a "critic's choice".  They (Billboard) define 
that as "new releases, regardless of potential chart action, which the 
reviewer highly recommends because of their musical merit".  

    In the March 7, 1995 issue of "Soap Opera Magazine," Larry Flick,
    the "Billboard" reviewer is quoted as saying, "He's good," referring 
    to Wally.  Flick has been inundated with calls from radio stations 
    wanting to know if Flick's review was referring to the soap 
    personality.  Flick adds, "I think the whole album is strong."  He
    also says, "But I like that song in particular," referring to "The
    Only One I Love."

In reviewing "This Is What They Mean" as a country single, Billboard 
had this to say:
    On this first single from the album "Half and Half," budding 
    tunesmith Chris Taylor and "General Hosptial" television heartthrob 
    Wally Kurth make a formidable bid for entry into the tight and 
    competitive ranks of country radio.  This charming acoustic love 
    song will warm the hearts of programmers with its dewy-eyed romance 
    and heartfelt harmonies.  Slot this gem of a single between Diamond 
    Rio and Sawyer Brown and watch your phones ring off the hook.

In addition "This Is What They Mean" also was rated a "critic's choice."


5.  Does the Kurth & Taylor Band play anywhere besides on GH?

    The Kurth & Taylor Band does try to perform around the country, 
    Wally's GH schedule permitting.  Until recently most of their gigs 
    have been in LA and CA.  They have played the Zoo Grass festival 
    in Billings, MT (Wally's hometown) for several years and also have 
    performed at Starfest at the LA County Fairgrounds in 1995 and 1996. 
    They try to make the American Cancer Society's annual fundraiser 
    "Take A Chance with the Stars" and performed at ABC's Soap Spectacular 
    at Disney-MGM Studios in Oct. '96 and Super Soap Weekend in Nov. '97.  
    The band  performed in Boston, San Diego, Cleveland and Chicago as 
    part of the Kurth & Taylor For Kids Tour, benefiting pediatric aids 
    charities.  The band has also appeared on Crook and Chase and appeared 
    in Nashville at the Ace of Clubes, the Summer Lights Festival and Cafe 
    Milano.  Keep an eye out for announcements in the soap magazines and I  
    will post anything I hear of to ratsa as well as to the Port Charles 
    Online Calendar.

6.  What songs have Wally and the band performed on GH as Eddie Maine
    and the Idle Rich?

7.  Does the Kurth & Taylor Band have a fan club?  How can the band be

    Kurth & Taylor now has a fan club.  They have a presence on the IFCO 
    web site (http://www.ifco.org) where you can check out their "stats"
    and participate in a fan forum.

    The Kurth & Taylor t-shirts and hats are currently not available
    by mail order.
