General Hospital Update for Friday, 3-Feb-2012

From the looks of things, it seems like February's theme is going to be secrets: revealed or not.
Kate opens up to Sonny about the reason for her secret out of town trips; Maggie and Steve are committed to keeping what happened in Memphis from Olivia (what happens in Memphis stays in Memphis, right?); Padilla gets closer to finding out the identity of the man who is assaulting the dancers is and the biggest secret soon to be revealed: Jason and Sam are finally going to learn the paternity of their unborn baby.
Almost forgot to mention that Shawn has a new job and it looks like he and TJ will be staying around for awhile and Alexis learns that yes, her condition has a name, but there can be advantages!
Starting off with Kate, we see her entering a hotel room, talking to Sonny. She's telling him about the Palm Beach weather, but is wearing a winter coat. What she doesn't know is that Sonny is standing right outside her door!
He confronts her about the need for the secrecy. Kate tells him that she's actually seeing another man. Enraged, Sonny demands to know who--but Kate tells him that she's actually seeing a psychiatrist!
She confesses that she is so ashamed of this that she feels she has to cross state lines to do it. They bond over their shared need for therapy and things are good again.
Over at GH, Olivia has decided that she's had enough. She demands to know what happened in Memphis from Steve. Maggie butts in and tells her that no, there is nothing between her and Steve, which Olivia doesn't buy.
After Olivia leaves, Maggie and Steve talk about Memphis and decide that Olivia can never know that they actually covered up a crime and got away with it!
Moving over to Jake's, Padilla, Dante and Lulu are having a fun night when Padilla finds out that her husband can't make it after all. She makes an early exit, telling Dante and Lulu that she would only be a third wheel.
As she walks through the alley by the bar, Padilla is grabbed from behind and assaulted. Dante and Lulu find her and figure out that it was probably the assaulter they're looking for who did it. They take her to GH to be looked over.
The night of secrets continues when Kelly Lee goes over to Jason and Sam's with the information they have been waiting for: who is the father of Sam's baby: Jason or Franco? We don't find out yet, but will probably know on Monday, so stay tuned!
On other fronts, we see that Shawn is the new manager of Kelly's and is enjoying it. He's also been asked by PC High to teach an after-school Chemistry class! Nice to see he's putting down roots.
Alexis confides to Diane about her recent symptoms: mood swings and hot flashes. Diane tells her that it's all due to menopause, which can be empowering! Now she doesn't have to worry about getting pregnant and can have all the sex she wants! And btw, there's Mac over at the bar! (They're at Jake's).
Everyone starts playing strip pool again and Diane actually winds up driving Mac home, so we shall see how this one turns out!
