The late Jake Webber is trying to contact his parents, but can Liz and Lucky help him? Sam is dealing with the aftermath of her assault at Franco's hands, but Jason is powerless to help and there's a new Doc at GH--but are sick kids her top priority? She could also be in the middle of PC's newest murder mystery: who killed Lisa Niles!
Lastly, it seems like Shawn is the only person in Port Charles who understands and respects the significance of today's holiday, which Carly is starting to appreciate.
Starting off with Liz and Lucky, we see that Liz is still at GH. She's fighting off pneumonia and is delirious with a high fever. Liz tells everyone including Matt and Monica that Jake needs her help and they have to help her get to him.
Jason shows up (yep, he's back from Hawaii), and of course, the staff sends him to Liz's room to try and fix it, like he fixes every problem in Port Charles.
Meanwhile, in Ireland, Lucky is still at St. Martha's well, also trying to get a message from Siobhan.
He's shocked when he hears Jake's voice (Liz did too) in a dream and wakes up to find the stones spelling "Go Home Daddy"!
Lucky confides all in his landlady, who tells him how she also went to St. Martha's Well when her husband died 23 years ago, but alas, she's still waiting on a message....
Back in Port Charles, Sam and Jason have come home. Jason is trying to be supportive and help Sam work through her anger at Franco for her rape. He suggests counseling, which his wife shoots down in a heartbeat.
While Jason is at GH, Sam decides to deal with the pile of wedding presents that were left in their condo. She opens one, which is a photo album to record pictures from their honeymoon, and throws it down. Hope Sam recovers soon!
Over at GH, the staff will soon be introduced to the likes of Dr. Maggie Worth, who is being hired for the vacant pediatrician spot (almost wanted to say the vacant crazy doc spot!).
She was recommended by Steve, who didn't know that she was cruising the hospital beforehand in a sick clown mask and comes loaded with a huge syringe, which she says calms the kiddies down. (If you don't behave kid, THIS is what you get, lol).
She alludes to what happened in Memphis with him, right before Olivia walks in, which was awkward, to say the least. I still think that she could have had something to do with Lisa's murder, but we shall see, right?
Finally, Shawn helped us remember what this day is all about. He's getting ready to drive to see friends, when Carly walks into Kelly's and catches him.
He tells her that he is seeing the son of the fellow marine that he accidentally killed in Iraq and this is something that he does every year. Shawn shows Carly the box of gifts he's bringing and gives her insight into Tommy Jr's father, Tommy Senior, who he was stationed with.
One thing leads to another, and Shawn is soon remembering his own father, Big Ray, who was tragically gunned down during a robbery--in front of Shawn, who was a little boy at the time.
Shawn asks Carly if Kelly's would mind if he flew a Gold Star flag, honoring all of the men and women in Iraq in his window for the day--and touched, Carly tells him to go ahead.
The flag is a good reminder of what this day is supposed to mean and is a good way to end our visit for today. Stay tuned!
