Some heartbreaking goodbyes are said today on General Hospital.Yet, the sweet, poignant scene with Jason and Sam gives sincere meaning to the word LOVE. Wow! This fan has waited forever to see Jason propose to Sam. In a lovely candlelight and roses' affair on the top of a building, Jason finally asks a beautiful Sam : " Will you marry me?" Sam looks a little dubious at first.and then ,she says : " Yes, Jason, I will marry you..I want to be your wife." With Maxie's accidentally dropping the sparkling engagement ring, Jason makes do with"a washer or nut bolt." HA Sam,of course, has mentioned that she doesn't need a ring, a gown, etc. We fans can probably look forward to a sweet wedding anyway. ;-)Alexis and Kristina are so happy for Sam and Jason.
On the other side of Port Charles, Jax goes to tell Michael, Morgan, and Josslyn goodbye. Morgan becomes somewhat upset.Carly says that she still loves Jax. Soooooooo Why didn't she try to nurture this union.? No wonder Molly thinks that love doesn't last. HA While Jax is saying his goodbyes, Brenda is telling Sonny goodbye. She returns his ring. It's a teary scene because they realize that Sonny can't be the man she wants him to be. One can't change another spouse, right? Sonny tells Brenda : " This is my power base. IT scares me because I like and understand this power, and I will not give it up for anyone." He adds : " I guess I am selfish."The heartbraking goodbyes come to an end as we see Brenda and her little son joining Jax on his private plane to Rome. Will they stick together? Who knows. I truly will miss Jax..Sonny did recognize the fact that Brenda had changed when she became a mother.I think though that she wanted Sonny to beg her to stay, yet, would he be willing to relinquish this life? One does not think soooo. Power is more important to Sonny than love. How sad!How can something so beautiful as love be so complex? No wonder younger kids like Molly have so many questions concerning this potent 4 letter word.
