Luke is continuing his downward slide into a very dark place--and the people who love him are powerless to do anything about it. Carly and Brenda have their expected cat fight about motherhood (we saw this one coming, right?) and Brenda is shocked when Sonny stands behind his ex-wife. Carly tries to make things right for Jason in a very Carly way--but needs Sam to pull it off and Lucky still wants to say "I Do" to Siobhan. All in all, a typically busy Friday in Port Charles!
We start off at the Haunted Star, where Luke is drinking himself into oblivion, trying to deal with the pain of being the hit and run driver who hit Jake.
He gets visits from Nicholas, Sonny and even Siobhan and gives the same message to all three: he doesn't need any advice, thank you very much, and Lucky certainly doesn't need help from him, the one who killed his son!
The Star is filled with broken glass (he's been throwing bottles) and booze on the floor. Tracy's sure to have a melt-down when she sees it, so Luke takes steps to make sure she doesn't: he throws oil all around and lights his lighter at the end of the show. I don't know what his plan is: whether he's going to leave when the deed is done or whether he's going down with the ship.
On to Carly and Brenda. Brenda introduced Lucien to Carly when she walked into the Living Room at Chez Corinthos and of course Carly had to give her two cents on Brenda's unfitness as a mother.
It was funny, because of course, Brenda had to jump in with saying that Carly is the last person to lecture her on motherhood (very true, lol). I mean, the woman doesn't exactly have a sterling track record, right?
Anyway, Brenda goes to Sonny and asks if he can stop Carly thinking that she can walk into their house unannounced anytime she wants.
Sonny tells his new wife that he's not going to stand up to his ex--saying that he's afraid he won't have access to Michael and Morgan if that happens. First off, Michael is an adult, right? Brenda tells him that his kids know they are welcome in their home anytime and says she's going to have to deal with Carly barging in unannounced.
Carly is meeting Sam at Kelly's while this is happening. She tells her that she's worried about how Jason is handling Jake's loss and has the perfect solution: Sam and Jason should have a baby!! (Come again??)
Jason and Luke aren't the only ones reeling from Jake's loss. Lucky is burying himself in work and even tries to question Jason about Brandon's murder. He asks Siobhan to marry him again due to her Green Card troubles, but the Irish lass tells him that he needs to process his loss before they can go forward, and overwork isn't the answer.
So the upshot from this episode is that in order to heal and move forward, Luke and Lucky need to come together, and from the looks of things, that's not happening soon...Stay tuned!
