General Hospital Update for Friday, 18-Mar-2011

A day of tragedy for Port Charles parents today. Jacks and Carly got the horrific news that Josselyn could have a rare form of kidney cancer, and Liz saw something that no mother should ever see: her son laying at the side of the road, unconscious after being hit by a car.
On the flip side, Sonny and Brenda are off on their honeymoon, flying to Italy as heartbreak is happening back home, and it looks like Robin has FINALLY found the famous syringe that Johnny was blackmailing Lisa with, meaning that this story line could be over soon, thank the lord!
Starting off at GH, Carly is called by Jacks to come ASAP, as Josselyn's fever has gotten worse. Panicked, Jacks has brought Josselyn in to the Emergency Room.
Carly comes into the hospital, and is brought into an exam room where Jacks and Josselyn are. Josselyn looks the picture of health, and Carly and Jacks are civil as they wait for their daughter's lab results.
Terrell comes in and gives them a body blow: he has calls into specialists in Houston, because he is afraid that Josselyn has a rare form of kidney cancer!
He stresses that the diagnosis has not been confirmed, but all signs are pointing to this. Giving Josselyn's parents some hope, Terrell says that if she only has tumors on one kidney, this is good news, as they can take out the kidney and Josselyn will be able to live a normal life. He doesn't even touch on what will happen if she has tumors on both kidneys, which is something that Jacks and Carly don't even want to think about.
Carly calls Michael for support, and is amazed that he is able to get to them so quickly. There's a reason for this: Michael was already at GH to support Jason.
Jason needed support because he got a body blow of his own from Lucky: Jake was hit by a car and is in critical condition!
Lucky races out of his green card wedding to Siobhan to race to the hospital, followed by Luke, Jason and Michael.
At GH, Liz is a mess and falls to pieces when Steve tells her that she can't see Jake before surgery.
It seems that Jake ran out into the road to get a toy and was hit by a hit and run driver. As Luke wonders "what heartless bastard would hit a kid and just drive off?"
That is the question at the back of everyone's mind as Patrick and Robin scrub in for surgery, Jake's parents are in the waiting room and Luke and Tracy stand vigil by the phone at the Haunted Star. As a sidelight, Luke does tell Tracy who Jake's biological father is and Tracy gasps "So Jake's a Quartermaine?" The secret's out now!
On a happier note, Sonny and Brenda are flying to Italy for their long-awaited honeymoon, after Sonny has Brenda guess their destination. Happier times are definately in store for them.
Robin has found the syringe that Lisa tried to use to drug her, thanks to Johnny's little scavenger hunt and was on her way with the booty to Steve's office to get Dr. Looney fired before Jake came in. This was shelved for now, but I'm sure we'll be hearing more about it! Can Lisa FINALLY get the boot, PLEASE??
