General Hospital Update for Friday, 7-Jan-2011

Happy New Year!! And from the looks of things, based on today's episode, 2011 REALLY came in with a bang in Port Charles.
Let's see: there's a new doctor in town, and he shares one thing in common with Patrick: he's got a history with Lisa; Olivia will be making a full recovery from her bus crash injuries and everyone is thankful; Theo is definately up to no good and it seems like Robin is the only person who can talk sense to him; Carly is bound and determined to break up Abby and Michael's budding romance and Spinelli is writing his memoirs! (with Diane's help!!)LOTS going on...
We start off with Dr. Terrell Jackson, newly hired by GH as a pediatrician. He just conveniently was passing through on the night of the bus crash and treated Morgan as his first patient. (Remember Morgan broke his leg in the crash).
He passed the audition, because it seemed like his interview with Steve was only a formality the next day.
After he accepted Robin's offer of a hospital tour, Lisa cornered him in an empty room.
She tells him that she wants him to get Robin into bed! Being that he's no dummy, Dr. Jackson asked what was in it for him, adding that he missed having Lisa in his life! Uh-oh....
Since we're already at GH, heading down to the ICU, we see Dante keeping vigil at Olivia's bedside. Olivia was the most seriously injured passenger in the crash, and the doctors have told Dante that it is now up to her: they have done everything that they can.
Dante is praying, but is interrupted by two visitors: Johnny, who has come to pay his respects to Olivia, and Theo Hoffman, who has come to depose him in the wrongful death lawsuit that Dante and Brenda are named in--and won't take no for an answer, until Sonny intervenes.
Thankfully, Olivia comforts Dante as he is crying at her bedside, which is a happy moment for everyone. Steve comes in to examine her and Olivia promises him a home-cooked meal when she gets out of GH.
Dante sees a little budding romance brewing and asks his mom, but we will have to find out what she says!
Speaking of budding romances, Abby was reunited with Michael in the ER the night of the buscrash and hugged him: right in front of Carly!!
Carly confronts Sonny later on about Abby, saying that she's not right for Michael because of her age--and Sonny lets slip that she's a stripper!!
Carly's definately not having any of it now, and storms over to Sam's office telling her to stay away from Michael and not introduce him to anyone new. Sam stands up to her, which is nice to see.
She then sets up a meeting with Abby at Kelly's and tells her that she's going to pay her off and she will then take the first plane out of Port Charles! Abby tells her to back off. News flash, Carly: this is the best way to lose Michael forever!
On to Theo Hoffman. He's making a good impression working with Diane on the wrongful death suit, but Robin convinces him to drop the GH Malpractice suit, saying that he needs to name her in it as well. He really likes Robin, so he says he will drop it as a result.
And speaking of Diane, she's doing a little moonlighting on the side: as a ghost writer for Spinelli, who is working on his memoirs!! Too funny...
