General Hospital Update for Friday, 19-Mar-2010

Sonny's murder trial got underway today, but there was much more boiling under the surface in Port Charles.
Christina is starting the painful process of recovery from her assault, with lots of help from Sam and Alexis, Dante's moved into his new super-cool apartment; getting a house-warming gift from Lulu in the process, Maxie and Spinelli are waking up to the fact that Maxie's health crisis is very real and Ethan is becoming more of a pariah in Port Charles. Where's Luke when you need him?
We start off with Sonny's murder trial, where jury selection is getting underway. There are several familiar faces in the pool of potential jurors: Coleman, Big Alice and Dr. Lisa!
Alice is thrilled to be in the pool and literally skips into the courtroom, which is sweet. Coleman, is "stylin" in his new suit, courtesy of Kate, who's hanging around the courtroom and actually runs into Sonny, which doesn't thrill either of them, as you can imagine. Lisa is full of herself; bragging to Alice that she's going to be excused "because I'm a surgeon"...(Don't touch these hands: STERILE!!)
Naturally, Lisa is the first person picked for the jury!
As Sonny is still preoccupied with Christina's situation, Claire offers him a trial continuance, but he's not having it. The trial is starting as scheduled, without Alexis at the defendant's table.
While this is going on, Christina is trying to pick up the pieces and put her life back together. She's been discharged from GH and is at home, where Sam comes to see her and shows her how to put makeup on to cover her bruises.
She also gets a visit from that skanky Kiefer, who brings her a huge Teddy Bear and tries to pretend that it's all better. What a creep.
Before this happened, Christina begged Sonny in the hospital not to kill Ethan, who only agreed not to do it after Alexis told him to. She also talked to Jason about that night, and Jason is the first person to find an inconsistency in her story--making him think that perhaps Ethan didn't do it!
He's the only one who thinks this--as Alexis has slapped a restraining order on Ethan and he had to pull Sam off the Aussie!
On to Dante, who's finally moved into his apartment. He gets house-warming gifts from Olivia and Lulu.
Lulu, who brought him a coffee-pot, is getting ready to make her present REALLY hot, when she gets a text from Maxie at GH. She tears herself away from her boyfriend and goes to see her BFF at the hospital.
And when Lulu gets there, she sees that her friend, roommate and coworker's health is worsening fast.
Maxie is terrified about having to wear an oxygen mask, telling Lulu that she knows it's the first step towards the end, based on her experiences getting her heart transplant when she was little.
Even so, Spinelli is understandably worried and goes to see Robin. Convinced, Maxie reluctantly accepts the mask. She's sinking fast!
Today's episode ended at Sonny's trial, with the jury seated and opening statements being made by both attorneys. Let the games begin!
