General Hospital Update for Tuesday, 19-Jan-2010

Olivia tries to talk Sonny into leaving the country. He gets suspicious, asking if she knows something he doesn't, but she covers, saying no, she is just worried about him (she's lying, since she knows that Dante, their cop son, is working on putting Sonny away). He says that he cannot leave because there are too many people in Port Charles that he cares about. He says it is his kids, but he was also talking about Olivia. Later, he meets with Jason, who tells him that not all the evidence burned in the cabin, that the forensic team found a strand of Sonny's hair there. Sonny informs Jason that he will be framing Franco and that he says that, even though he loves Jason like a brother, he orders him to take a break. Sonny leaves and later, he goes to the pier and spots Olivia and Johnny kissing.

Ethan opens the casino for one customer, Mike. Mike keeps losing, finally writing an IOU to the casino, saying he is good for it. Tracy comes in and tells Mike he is done for the evening. Mike gets upset and leaves. Tracy informs Ethan that Mike has a gambling habit. Ethan, knowing that Sonny won't take to kindly to Mike losing money at the casino, goes to Kelly's looking for Mike. While there, he sees Krissy with Kiefer. He checks to make sure she is okay and as he is leaving, Kristina reminds him that he still had to teach her to play poker, while Kiefer steamed. Back at the Haunted Star, Ethan is closing up when Lucky comes in looking for Luke. Ethan does not know where he is, but he lets Lucky know about the Mike situation and that he plans on letting Mike win all his money back. Lucky says, sarcastically, that that will really help his addiction. Ethan says at the moment he was more worried about his skin. Lucky agrees and then tells Ethan he will close up. Ethan leaves.

Spinelli informs Jason and Sam that the hair was not Michael's but Sonny's. They figure it was transferred there by Claudia. Spinelli says he could try to mess with the DNA sample like he did on Michael's, but Jason said no dice, since they already had a match. Later, after Sonny leaves, Jason tells Sam about his conversation with Sonny and how he worries it will blow up in Michael's face. Sam tries to reassure him that he did everything he could and they kiss.

Lucky goes to the airfield and talks Nikolas into staying. He is taking the first steps into making Elizabeth and Nikolas pay for their betrayal. After convincing Nikolas, he goes to Elizabeth, and asks if she is alone. She says of course, did he think she would have company? Yup, he figured Nik was there. He then tells her what he did. She is alarmed, but he tells her that Nikolas is his brother and that they worked hard to get to where they were, since they were bitter enemies when Nik first came to town. He concedes that he should have probably talked to her first, but she says that it is okay, she just supports his decision. He tells her thank you and that she always does. She tells him she loves him and goes to kiss him. He pulls away and says "I can't tell you how much the means to me" and kisses her. He leaves and goes to the Haunted Star. While he is closing, he looks at the alcohol and flashes back to what he saw earlier, which was Nik and Elizabeth making love and proclaim their love for one another. He pours himself a drink and then, he falls off the wagon by taking a drink.

After Lucky leaves, Nikolas stops by and tells her that he is staying in town because of Lucky. He gives her one last chance to tell him to leave but she tells him he needs to stay, for Lucky. She also informs him that they would not be together anymore. It was disrespectful to Lucky and that it would destroy him if he found out. Which he already has, they just don't know that yet. Nik know this and he says that he doesn't think they will be seeing much of each other, but Liz lets him know that Lucky wants to work on their relationship, so that, yes, they will be spending time together. Nik says that he does not want to lose the person he's closes to (Lucky) and that he will do what he has to do and leaves.

Kiefer and Kristina meet at Kelly's. He gives her a necklace that is inscribed with their initials and shaped like a heart. Then, he surprises her with Black Eyed Peas tickets.

Johnny is at the docks waiting for Olivia when he runs into Lulu. He tries to warn her that she will be hurt when all the secrets about Dominic come out. Dominic comes in and tells Johnny if the has a problem with him, he needs to deal with him. Johnny says he does not want to make trouble and that he will not doing anything to hurt Dominic because it would destroy Olivia. Johnny mentions how Luke would feel about the situation and that there would be a lot of people mad at Lulu. Dominic thanks him for the warning, which you can tell he is taking to heart, and leaves with Lulu. Olivia meets Johnny at the pier, and they discuss how they were both trying to talk some sense into Sonny and Lulu, respectively. Olivia says how hard it is for her to be happy with him, when she knows so many lives will be destroyed soon.

Dominic takes Lulu back to his place and laments how he needs to close this case soon since so many people know and someone could slip and that he should not have let it get personal. She asks if he means her and he says especially her. He says that he agrees with Johnny and that when he closes the case, he will go back to Brooklyn (yeah, right), leaving Lulu to have to deal with the fall out, and alone. He tries to get her to say there is no him and her, but she won't. He tries to push her away, but she doesn't let him. She says that she can think for herself. She brings up how he finally has her in his room and he's pushing her away. She grabs his hand. He looks at their intertwined hands and then looks at her and says that it is for her own good. She tells him that he doesn't get to decide what's good for her (sounding so much like her cousin Carly). He tries valantly one more time, saying she's been hurt enough. She tells him that he is doing it again. He gives in and kisses her passionately. He pulls away and says he does not know why he did that. She says yes he does. He tells her she needs to go. She says if that is what you really want. He doesn't want her to go, but he walks to the door and opens it. She is shocked, but she grabs her purse and says, "Okay, yeah, I'm gonna go. But, just for the record, this isn't you being noble. This is you being an emotional coward." She leaves. He hits his fist against the door as he closes it.
