General Hospital Update for Wednesday, 16-Dec-2009

Well all in all a slow day in Port Chuck today. With the holidays closing in fast, most of today was spent surrounding various tree-trimming events. I will however highlight some of the more interesting goings-on.

*Lisa’s patient doesn’t make it through the OR, so she and Robin head to Jake’s. The two doctors bond over war stories and alcohol. Lisa admits that originally she wanted to dislike Robin, but that her opinion was now changed. Patrick shows up and grabs a beer. Patrick relates his most recent run in with King-Nepotism (a.k.a. Dr. Steve Webber). Robin immediately sees the situation for what it is and begins to do damage control. When Steve shows up to Jake’s himself, Patrick decides to settle their differences like men, and challenges him to a game of darts.

*Lucky runs into Michael outside Kelly’s. Lucky can see Michael’s inner conflict. Lucky recognizes his own pain and disillusionment of Luke in Michael’s face. Lucky tries to counsel Michael, when Sonny shows up. Sonny sends Michael on his way and appeals to Lucky as a father to leave Michael alone. Sonny then makes his way to the Haunted Star to enlist Luke’s help. Luke, who is two sheets to the wind, refuses to intervene and puts Sonny on warning if anything happens to Lucky or anyone he loves. Sonny tries to tell Luke his wish that Michael would turn against him (as Lucky had turned against Luke) to save him from a life in the mob. Luke calls Sonny on this half-truth and outs his pride in seeing himself reflected in this new Michael.

*Maxie comes clean to Spinelli about her tryst with Franco. Spinelli refuses to play “an eye for an eye” to appease Maxie’s guilt. Spinelli maintains that he just wants to repair the relationship and move on. Maxie is caught up in her betrayal and want the playing field leveled again.

*Alexis has a pastry decorating party at her house. Guests include Molly, Kristina, Keifer, and Diane. All is well until Ethan shows up and Keifer goes into jealous overdrive.

*Lucky tells Dante to focus on Michael. Dante goes to the Corinthos mansion and bonds with Michael. Michael lets his guard down and admits to Dante that Sonny made sure that Claudia’s body would never be found. Dante realizes that Michael knows all and is the key to bringing Sonny down. He also sees Michael’s anguish hidden under all the “mob-heir” bravado.
