General Hospital Update for Wednesday, 4-Nov-2009

I don’t have Tivo or any other technological advances with which to record my favorite shows. When I watch GH I sit with pen and paper in hand and jot down notes and scenes as I go. Well let me tell you, today, I was literally paralyzed by my pen. I sat watching, mesmerized with goose pumps all over. I couldn’t write a single word as I watched months of Claudia’s awful scheming and lying come to a final end.


*After having delivered Carly’s daughter safely, Claudia’s mental state breaks completely as she mourns the death of her own child. Claudia decides that Carly got to have Micheal back, so she is going to take Josslyn as her own. As Claudia makes for the door of the cabin, Michael shows up and sees his mother screaming at Claudia from the sofa, begging her not to take the baby. Michael bursts in. His rage and Corinthos instincts take over. He grabs an axe, and, once and for all, puts an end to Claudia. This scene literally had me spell bound. You could have knocked me over with a feather! Jason and Sam arrive seconds later. Michael, clearly in shock, slowly comprehends that he has realized his destiny as his father’s son.
Jason jumps into action and begins to spin the facts to protect Michael. Jason sends Sam, Carly and the baby to the hospital and calls in Sonny, Max and Milo to help him cover the evidence. Jason snaps at Max when he questions Jason’s plan to bury Claudia and torch the cabin. Max feels that this will point police straight to Jason. Jason, feeling his own guilt over Michael having to protect his mother from Claudia is willing to make himself the prime suspect to protect Michael. Jason buries Claudia “deep, as close to hell” as he can get her. As I watched Max and Milo put the body in the ground I wondered, where did they get the body bag from? Does Jason carry a supply around in the trunk of his car? Is there a hitman boy scout badge for preparedness?

*Michael and Sonny head back to town. Michael tells his father that he only happened on Carly and Claudia when he was trying to run away to Canada. Wasn’t that where Claudia was taking Carly? How exactly was Claudia planning on getting Carly through he border? I know Canadian Border Services has gotten a bad wrap, but I’m sure that they would notice a pregnant hostage in the back seat. I can’t even smuggle a pair of new shoes across the border without being nailed. Not to mention that a teenage boy driving a high end Mercedes, trying to cross the border in the middle of the night, might draw a little attention. Anywhoo.
Michael tells his father that he is not upset about killing Claudia and that he was only doing what he was raised to do. Sonny now realizes the incredibly high price his children will pay for the life he has chosen. Maxi sees Sonny entering his estate with blood on his shirt.

*Lulu and Dante sit in a leaky basement as the water levels rise. Dante admits he is under cover. Johnny eventually arrives with rescue workers and Lulu is taken to GH. Dante ask Lulu to keep his secret.

*Johnny finds out that Sam brought Carly and her baby to the hospital. Knowing how the business works, he fears the worst for his sister.

*A guilty Carly tells Jax the truth about Michael and Claudia.
