General Hospital Update for Friday, 24-Jul-2009

It was a sad day for Claudia today, as she got the news that her baby did not make it through her car crash. It was also sad for the Corinthos clan, as Mac arrested Michael after he went to the PCPD to confess that he was driving the car (or so he thinks) that caused Claudia's accident.
Olivia now knows that Dante is working for Sonny, and is not happy about it, to say the least, Alexis' troubles are only growing and Diane Miller is the busiest lawyer in Port Charles! Almost forgot to mention that Carly is recovering nicely at GH from her part in saving Claudia...
We start with Claudia. She's made it through the brain surgery performed by Matt (with Patrick riding shotgun just in case). But as Liz and the other nurses were getting her ready for recovery, Liz noticed that the baby's heart rate was dropping on the monitor.
Sadly, Dr. Lee broke the news to Claudia in recovery later. Although the surgery had no adverse impact on the baby, it seems like the seatbelt cut off a vital blood supply, causing trauma to the baby.
Claudia's devastated, and thankfully has Johnny with her for support. No mention of Sonny, and no idea where he is...
On to Michael. The more he hears about Claudia, the more convinced he is that he was the driver that caused it. He goes to the PCPD to turn himself in, but Jason is doing everything to try and talk him out of it.
Jason finally wises up and calls Diane to represent him. Diane runs over to the station from Alexis' house, where she's been busy giving her tips on HER case, and gets to the station just in time to see Michael being arrested!
Mac calls Alexis and tells her that now she's not a suspect in the accident but Michael is. Christina hears everything and confronts Alexis, telling her that she's lying about this like she lied about the emails that she's accused of sending Mayor Floyd.
Sam is also in the room and confronts Christina after Alexis leaves, telling her that her behavior has been very strange and that she's on to her--because she felt their car's engine the night of the accident and it was warm. She asks Christina if SHE could have caused the accident!
Taking a break from this, we drop in on Dante and Olivia. Olivia now knows that her son is working for Sonny and to say she's not pleased is the understatement of the year.
She yells at him and tells him to stop, but Dante's having none of it; accusing her of still having a thing for Sonny! Oh, if only he knew....
Finally, Carly. She's recovering at GH from her part in saving Claudia and is told by Dr. Lee to avoid stress at any cost. Her blood pressure is still high and she could stroke at any minute--however, Jacks is hiding the phone call he got from Jason at the PCPD telling him about Michael's arrest. Think THAT would do it???
That's about it for now. We'll have to wait till Monday to see what happens next!
