General Hospital Update for Friday, 26-Jun-2009

Parenting skills, or lack of were at the forefront of today's episode. Let's see, after the huge fight that Sonny and Michael had over Michael joining the business, Sonny felt guilty and bought him a car (?), while Christina was on hand at the PCPD to hear Alexis being dragged thru the mud, courtesy of Mayor Floyd. Carly asked the Quartermaines to take in Michael, while Lucky had a fit over Ethan meeting Cameron and Jake.
We start off at Sonny's house, where Sonny is having a huge knock-down, drag out over Michael's desire to join the business--all this while Dominic Pirelli, one of the shooters that Johnny and Jason ran into, is recovering upstairs!
While Michael is saying that Sonny is ashamed of him, blah blah, Christina actually runs into Dominic in an upstairs bedroom, and is told to go get him something to eat.
Claudia comes upon the two of them and covers, pretending that she's never met him before, and is able to walk Christina to the door of the house.
Afterwards, Sonny goes out and buys Michael, you guessed it, a CAR--and this is for a boy who doesn't even have a learner's permit yet, but hey, it's Port Charles, where anything goes, right?
Meanwhile, Carly has become convinced that living at Sonny's is not a good idea for Michael, and knows that he's not ready to come home to her either. She decides that the only alternative for her oldest son is living with the Quartermaines, his grandparents.
She goes to the mansion and there's a touching scene where she sets groundrules for the Q's, the first ones being no bashing of her, Sonny or Jason.
They all agree (with the exception of Tracy), and noone is more excited than Monica, which is sweet to see.
On to Christina, who is now at the PCPD, waiting for Alexis. However, she has walked right in on the arrest of Mayor Floyd for the murder of Brianna Hughes!!
Since this was done in front of crowds of paparazzi (of course), everyone's waiting for a comment from the sleazy Mayor.
And does he ever have one. He smirks, looks right into the TV cameras, and tells everyone no way can DA Davis arrest him, because THEY were lovers!! There's a cutaway to Christina's face, and you don't have to be able to read lips: the "Ewwww" comes right through!!
Not much else happened today. Almost forgot to mention that Ethan got a chance to meet Cameron and Jake at Kelly's, but Lucky had his usual heart attack when he saw Ethan with Lulu, so that meeting was cut short.
And of course, Johnny and Olivia got it on AGAIN, having a nooner at lunch. Wawa Woowoo!! And that's really it!
