General Hospital Update for Friday, 27-Feb-2009

It looks like things are finally coming to head in Port Charles--as Anthony could die or Claudia could, as they say, go "out with a bang"....
As we are speaking Zacharra here, let's say that Johnny and Maxie are making quite a name for themselves in Manhattan nightspots, courtesy of Crimson and Kate--not that Spinelli and Lulu are happy about it! The only other thing of note to happen was that Tracy bailed Luke out of jail (again!!) and hired Ethan to work as a bartender at the Haunted Star.
We start with Anthony, who is holding Claudia hostage in an abandoned warehouse. He wants Sonny to deliver ransom money to his location--enough so he can leave the country, or else Claudia gets killed.
While they are waiting for Sonny, alot of baggage from the past comes up between father and daughter. It turns out that Claudia was doomed in her father's eyes from birth--just because she was born a girl--and things went downhill after that.
Sonny is preparing to bring the money to Anthony, but tells Jason that he can't promise that he won't take out Anthony. Jason reminds Sonny that as part of his deal with the FBI to keep Spinelli out of prison, he has agreed to Agent Rainer's demand to bring in Anthony alive. If this doesn't happen, the deal's off.
Sonny comes through, bringing Anthony the cash, and demands to know where Claudia is. Turns out she's blindfolded and tied to a chair, which has a bomb attached to it.....
On to Johnny and Maxie. Kate sent them out in designer duds to a hot Manhattan nightspot. Their marching orders are to get lots of press and talk up Crimson. Johnny's happy to do it, because Kate's paying him $1000, and Maxie's happy because Johnny's hot--but Spinelli and Lulu are decidedly UNhappy about the arrangement.
Kate is pleased with the latest hot couple dujour, and decides to get them tickets to a film premiere, but Johnny tells her that his price is $1000 or no deal. Smart thinking--and Kate agrees to it!
Finally, Ethan and Luke. When we first see them, Tracy has bailed out Ethan--and discovers that he's ripped off her cash!!
Instead of being upset by this, Tracy is bowled over by the charmer from down under--and only agrees to bail out Luke after Ethan begs her to do it.
On the drive home, she decides that Ethan is going to be the new bartender at the Haunted Star--and Luke is not that happy about it; even suggesting that he apply at the Metrocourt!
It's clear that Ethan has a deeper connection to Port Charles than he's letting on, and it's going to be fun to see where it leads.
