General Hospital Update for Friday, 19-Dec-2008

And Christmas is only a week away! And in true Port Charles style, there's a wedding to plan, a heroine is at the bottom of a mine shaft, a bad girl might have met her end and there's enough holiday angst for four counties!
We start off with the happy part of the story. Robin and Patrick have reset their wedding date for the day after Christmas and there's going to be family on both sides to witness the happy event. Both Robert and Anna are there for the bride and Patrick has even asked his long-lost brother Dr. Matt Hunter to be his best man.
Robert is indeed back in town, and tells a doubting Anna that yes, he has indeed received a clean bill of health from the Swiss Oncology clinic where he has been a patient and he's here to meet his granddaughter!
And meet his granddaughter, he did. And yes, it was touching. And was there a dry eye in the house as Robert held Emma for the first time? Not in my house!
Moving on to the heroine in the mine shaft. It's Sam, and of course Sasha is taunting Jason with this small detail. Sasha has a deal for Jason: if he finances her trip out of the country, she will lead him to Sam's location.
Only one small problem: neither one of them trust each other and Sasha tells him that basically, he will have to buy her story on blind faith if Jason ever wants to see Sam again.
Meanwhile, Sam is shivering at the bottom of this mineshaft and is hallucinating; seeing Alexis there--who tells her to get moving or she will never wake up again. Sam has also injured her hip, so she's hurt, cold and scared--not a good combination.
Going back to Jason and Sasha, before Jason can tell her whether he's going to buy off on her deal or not, a shot rings out and Sasha collapses in his arms. She could be dying, so Jason takes the chance to ask her where Sam is and she doesn't speak...
On to holiday angst. You want holiday angst? We got plenty over here! Take Sonny and Claudia, for example. Claudia has bought a tree and decorated it at Chez Corinthos, against Sonny's wishes.
Not only is Claudia stressed over Jerry's stunt with the hidden DVD's all over the house, now she has to deal with an enraged Sonny, who takes one of the ornaments off the tree and throws it into the fire.
Believe it or not, there is a happy ending to this story, at least for Sonny. He takes a call from Carly, telling him that she needs him and rushes over to her house, where he comes face-to-face with Morgan--Carly's Christmas present to him. A smile breaks out on Sonny's face as his son hugs him...Awww...
And speaking of Morgan, the poor kid is probably doubly confused, what with Jacks coming over to give him a gift before leaving for Australia to spend Christmas with Lady Jane.
