General Hospital Update for Friday, 7-Nov-2008

And it's my first update after the Presidential election! Did everyone vote? Hope so! Anyway, here in a nutshell is what went down today.
It was a real case of heart-to-heart conversations, with a murder and a manhunt, let alone yet ANOTHER potential explosion thrown in for good measure.
Let's start with those heart-to-hearts: first, we have Luke and Laura, who finally got a chance to hash out that last few years and discuss where their relationship really is now.
Laura is still hurting after finding out that Luke is indeed married to Tracy--and Luke sees that now.
Even though Laura might be hurting, she's no fool, and tells Luke that she realizes that time has gone on since she's been ill and Luke has moved on.
After she sees that Luke really does love Tracy and theirs is really more than a marriage in just name, Laura tells Luke that now she has to figure out where the rest of her life is going--with or without Scotty Baldwin!
Remember that Luke, Laura, Scotty, Tracy and the kids are all in Los Angeles? The kids and Tracy are on a manhunt for Luke and Laura, and find where their car crashed in a canyon.
The rest of the search party decides to try and find them, but Tracy and Lulu decide to stay back--Tracy, because I think she really doesn't want to deal with Luke and Laura if they are back together and Lulu because believe it or not, she really does care about Tracy!
Tracy and Lulu have a heart-to-heart, and Lulu now sees that maybe it wouldn't be such a bad thing if Tracy and Luke stayed together. This opinion is not shared by her brothers, however...
On to the next big heart-to-heart: Carly and Sonny, who always seem to find their ways back to each other.
As we remember, Sonny is recovering from his stab wounds in Carly's bed, but is ready to get up and go find Karpov.
He has forbid Carly from getting him any type of medical attention and is still dripping blood (lovely). He tells her that if she doesn't leave, she's going to see him naked (which isn't exactly something she hasn't seen, right?? :)) ) and Carly is able to toss off a great double entendre as a result: "It's smaller than I remembered!!" (I almost fell off of my chair when she said that!!)
They talk about Michael and Carly tells Sonny that she makes a point of visiting him at least once a week--sadly telling Sonny that he's growing up in a bed.
Anyway, Sonny leaves, but Carly's door rings again--it's Jacks, with a copy of their divorce decree, saying that if she signs it, they "can put this farce behind them"....
On to Kate and Olivia, who are bonding over saltwater taffy at GH. As Kate tells her cousin that she could be discharged as early as the next day, she gets an unwelcome visitor. It's Claudia, who tells the fashionista that Sonny is going to marry her for the power and the great sex, and there's nothing Kate can do about it!!
After Olivia threw her out, she notices that Claudia has left her coat. She goes out into the hall to try and flag her down, and hits paydirt suddenly: Claudia's cellphone in her coat pocket. And we'll soon find out why this is important....
Meanwhile, Karpov is waiting for a meeting on the docks, when he's stunned by none other than Olivia, who must have gotten the info about the meeting from Claudia's phone.
Her Brooklyn bluster doesn't get her far here, as Olivia asks the Russian mobster why he shot her cousin.
He shoos her off, telling her that he didn't do it, adding that he's becoming increasingly annoyed. Plus, he says, that Sonny has run into an unfortunate accident and won't be around anymore!
Nuh-uh!! Sonny says, limping into view. He tells Olivia to go back to the car, NOW, but Olivia's not great at following directions and hides in an alleyway--just in time to see Sonny shoot Karpov dead!! And man, was he DEAD!! And Olivia saw the whole thing!! Will she go to the PCPD???
Finally, that potential explosion, which could be courtesy of Jerry Jacks. He's got Sam captive on board the ship with the illegal drug stash, but doesn't seem to be worried that when the ship goes boom, it could take him with it! Anyway, Jason and Spinelli are in hot pursuit, so things should heat up soon!!
