General Hospital Update for Friday, 10-Oct-2008

And yet another busy Friday in Port Charles! Let's see: Alexis is busy finding out who shot Kate at her wedding and guess what: Karpov is the suspect dujour; Patrick and Robin finally set the date; Claudia and Rick find a new home at Jake's (before the boys engage in a little male bonding toasting Patrick's wedding) and Maximus Giametti has blown into Port Charles. Whew, I'm out of breath typing that!
Things start with Olivia working on a car, when Sonny drops by. Remembering that Olivia was always under the hood of a car in Bensonhurst when she was dealing with problems, Sonny tries to convince her not to cooperate with law enforcement, and to let him get back at Karpov his way.
No dice with the Belle of Bensonhurst. When Alexis comes by next (what a coincidence!), Olivia tells her everything she knows about the relationship between Sonny and Karpov, even offering to come to her office to give a statement.
Alexis then turns her attention to Karpov, summoning him to her office. She lays the cards on the table; telling him that she can't prove (yet) that he was behind Kate's shooting--but she can establish beyond a shadow of a doubt that he is a drug smuggler, and can make life very dicey for him as a result.
Karpov strikes back. He summons Jerry to the Waterfront and tells him to kill Alexis to get her off his back!!
On to Robin and Patrick--who have finally set their wedding date! It's set for Oct. 29th, and Patrick is getting an education in wedding planning from Robin. He's feeling a little overwhelmed, so he heads to Jake's for some male bonding with Coleman and the rest of the boys.
Coleman the bartender's been busy tonight, since Ric and Claudia have been steaming up the pool tables with their game of "bumper" pool. Claudia tells Ric that she's rented a room for them to get away from it all for hanky-panky, and Ric goes up to Coleman later and books it for the month!! Hmmmm...we shall see....
Finally, the force of nature that is Maximus Giametti, father of our own Max. Played by the wonderful Vincent Pastore (yes, THAT Vincent Pastore from The Sopranos), Maximus thinks that Max is, to quote Maxie, "the Don of Port Charles". (And of course, Max has been telling his dad that, while he's been deported to Italy). And btw, gotta love the inside references to the Sopranos!!
Jason plays along with the situation for Max, and the two switch roles, with Jason playing bodyguard and Max playing the head of the organization for Maximus' benefit. And one of the inside benefits is seeing how delicious Jason looks in a suit!!
That's about all that happened today. Can't wait for Monday!
