General Hospital Update for Friday, 12-Sep-2008

And the Johnny Zacchara murder trial is coming to a conclusion! If that's not enough to whet your appetite, Sonny and Kate are officially splitsville and the Emily Quartermaine clinic is about ready to go boom! Almost forgot to mention that Jason and Liz's romance is ready to get HOT again...
We start off at the trial. Lulu has just finished testifying and everyone's convinced that she said she killed Logan just to protect Johnny. (Noone even THINKS it could be true...)
Ric is now presenting the Defense's case and calls Claudia to the stand. Claudia proves that she can lie with the best of them--borrowing from Lulu and borrowing from Maxie to come up with testimony as only she can do it.
She told Scott that she had been doing Logan all along--and only stopped when Logan walked in on them having sex in the gardner's shack. Borrowing from Lulu, Claudia claimed that she saw Johnny kill Logan when he saw him about to rape Claudia! Not everyone buys it--least of all Scott.
Lulu, meanwhile, is a wreck. She pours her heart out to Laura at Shadybrook and is alarmed when Laura says she's tired and want a rest. Wow, I hope Genie isn't leaving us too soon!
And with all that going on, the case is now with the jury--and we are flies on the wall in the jury room...
On to Kate and Sonny. Kate has given Sonny back the ring and says she can't be involved in something that's based on a lie. Sonny is fighting for his life and promises to get her back--saying that both he and Carly know that that night in the limo was a mistake.
Meanwhile, at the Emily Quartermaine Free Clinic, things are going from bad to worse quickly--and of course Jerry Jacks is behind everything.
A bomb has been planted there by Jerry, which nobody knows yet. Things get hairy when Jerry sneaks up from behind and clonks Dr. Hunter over the head. He's knocked out--right before Jerry lights the incendiary device that he's planted.
Of course, Nurse Nadine walks in and sees Matt lying on the ground, surrounded by a fire that's growing rapidly out of control. Things aren't looking great for the plucky nurse!
Liz also manages to convince Jason that things are still very hot between them and tells him that what he does for a living isn't an issue with her. Look for this pair to be falling into bed soon...and speaking of which, Spinelli and Maxie are on the cusp of a very sweet romance.
Spinelli convinces Maxie that she's really changed--and isn't the selfish pig that she once was. There's a sweet and caring side to Maxinista and Spinelli is bringing it out in her, which is nice.
And on that note, we need to tune in on Monday!
