General Hospital Update for Friday, 27-Jun-2008

And Summer is well underway! And may I add with hot new storylines and hot new characters to boot?
Let's see: there's a sexy new resident making rounds at GH, and already he's igniting sparks with Maxie! Spinelli is recovering from the Asian Ague and Patrick's making a stand for Father's rights everywhere.
And speaking of fathers, Carly might be having to figure out who her baby's dadddy is and Claudia and Johnny have had their fill of theirs, thank you very much.
We start off with Maxie and Dr. Matt Hunter. Maxie is at GH to check on Spinelli and bumps into Dr. Hunter while on a cell phone call. Things go from bad to worse when her PDA falls and he walks on it, breaking it.
It didn't start off well and it doesn't get any better. Dr. Hunter calls Maxie a dumb volunteer and arrogantly tells her he's got rounds to make and the PDA isn't his problem, when Nicholas gets involved.
Turned out, Nicholas funded his fellowship and personally picked Hunter for his residency, which prompts Maxie to put the pieces together and say "so that makes him your boss!"
Dr. Hunter's attitude improves towards Nick and Nick tells him that one of the conditions of his fellowship is that he work at the new Emily Quartermaine Free Clinic, so we shall see how that turns out.
On to Spinelli. He's recovering at GH from the Ague and is thrilled to see Jason with Claudia. Maxie also winds up in his room, and tries to stop him from getting out of bed, which makes her wind up in HIS bed, right when Dr. Hunter gets there and well, you get the picture, right?
Leaving GH, we wind up in Robin's apartment, where she is getting ready to leave for GH, laptop in hand. Patrick shows up and says nothing doing--since she and the baby still need to be on bed rest! They get into a huge fight, and suddenly Anna walks in!
Anna decides that the biggest stressor in Robin's life right now is Patrick, and banishes the father-to-be from the apartment. Robin's not putting up much of a fight--and uses Anna's debriefing call to sneak out of her apartment and go to GH.
Once she's at GH, she runs into Patrick, who promptly presents her with a court petition giving him visitation rights with his unborn child! About time he fought back. This should get interesting!
On to Carly, who's playing "Guess the Baby Daddy.." As we all know, there is a good chance that Mrs. Jacks could be preggers, but there's a small problem: she had sex with both Jacks and Sonny on the same night!
She comes home and is confronted by Sonny, sitting in her living room, who cuts to the chase and asks point blank if he's the father.
Carly blurts out one of the dumbest lies in GH history: that Jason is the daddy!!! Huh???? I don't even think they've slept together!
Carly is doing her normal routine of making frantic calls to Jason every few minutes and finally goes over to his place with an in-home pregnancy test. And Jason is just starting to realize what a mess this is going to be...
Finally Claudia and Johnny. Johnny was cleared of all charges in the Logan Hayes assault case and was freed at the PCPD, with Lulu at his side.
Lulu thinks they're going to spend a wild afternoon together, but Claudia tells Johnny that Anthony has different ideas.
Johnny picks his father over Lulu and goes to Anthony's suite at the Metrocourt. The family is having a powwow with Ric and Trevor when Jerry bursts in and takes Johnny hostage.
And as we know, he's doing it for Alexis, which can only get good on Monday....
