General Hospital Update for Friday, 20-Jun-2008

Just another wild and crazy Friday in Port Charles! And now that we're officially into Summer, looks like things are going to be sizzling in our favorite upstate New York city.
Let's see, thoughts of marriage are definately in the air for one, maybe two couples, while Carly is doing everything she can (as usual) to screw hers up--and this time Jacks is helping! A brand new disease has come to Port Charles and Claudia is actually taking care of Jason, it's first victim and Patrick and Robin are ready to strengthen their commitment to each other.
We start off with Max and Diane, definately one of my favorite couples. They meet up at Chez Corinthos, where Max trips and falls, and rises up in front of Diane holding out a ring box, complete with a five-carat ring. The only problem is it's not for her, but for Kate, from Sonny.
Diane doesn't know any of this and is thrilled, accepting Max's proposal before he even can make it. Max doesn't have the heart to tell her the truth--even after Sonny tells him later that he's got to get the ring back!
Diane goes to see Alexis wearing her ring. She's starting to get cold feet, and Alexis isn't helping any, convincing her that it's a bad idea. She goes back over to Sonny's, where Max blurts out that he can't marry her, even before Diane says anything.
On to Carly and Jacks. Jacks goes over to Alexis' office, where he sees her in a somewhat "compromising" position with Jerry. He learns that they have indeed been sleeping together and goes ballistic, beating up his brother. Detective Harper from the PCPD rushes in at that moment and arrests both Jacks brothers, taking them down to the station.
It's clear that the brothers still aren't ready to cool off in the interrogation room, as they almost go at it in there.
Kate goes down to the station, saying she received a phone call about Jacks' arrest and is followed by Carly, saying "if anyone is going to bail out my husband, it's ME!!" O-Kaaaay...
The PCPD is a busy place, as that's where Mac took Patrick after his sham of an arrest at Robin's apartment. Patrick is taken there in handcuffs, and is followed by Robin, pushed in a wheelchair by Maxie.
Robin convinces Mac to let Patrick go, saying that she knows he is committed to her and the baby. Patrick also tells everyone that he wants Robin and the baby to move in with him--and Robin is starting to consider it!
Maxie was a huge help to Robin, and after Robin thanks her, she says "If Mac can police your sex life, he would be interfering in mine!!"
And speaking of Maxie, she came upon Johnny and Lulu at the Quartermaine boathouse, where they had had a swim, AND a lecture from Tracy on their relationship. And btw, Tracy was also helped by Alan's ghost...
It seems like Maxie is still trying to cash in on the payday Claudia offered her if she could get Johnny into bed, but we'll see.
Finally Claudia, Jason and the Asian Ague (I LOVE the new diseases the writers on GH dream up). It looks like this will be the latest major disease that everyone will get in Port C this summer, and Jason is the first victim.
As we remember, Claudia, Spinelli and Jason are all on quarantine after a pizza deliveryman brought the disease to their building--but it's definately too late for Jason, who collapses.
Spinelli tries to help, by whipping up an exotic Brazilian fruit drink, but spills most of it on himself in the process. Claudia actually calls the Health department and tries to follow their instructions. Too early yet to see how things turn out, but stay tuned!
