General Hospital Update for Thursday, 8-May-2008

It was a somber mood in Port Charles today--but there was some joy, however fleeting. Carly is finally coming to grips with Michael's true condition, Tracy still wants no part of Luke and Alexis is learning more about the connection between Jerry Jacks and Ian Devlin. Did I forget that Jason knows about the connection between Claudia and Devlin? On a lighter note, Nicholas did have the surgery and it went well. Luke even stopped by for a visit!
We start off with Michael, who is being cared for at home by Carly. Jason, Sonny and Jacks are all telling her that it's a big mistake--mostly because of what it will do in the long run to Morgan. Remember yesterday that Morgan did try to wake up his big brother with no success?
Michael is in a hospital bed in his room and is dwarfed by several monitors, but what I want to know is, who's watching the monitors--and more importantly, who's watching Michael? For someone who's taking care of her son full-time, Carly sure isn't in his room very often, but hey that's my opinion...
Sonny comes over and tries to give Morgan a realistic picture in terms that his 5-year-old son can understand, but Carly goes ballistic on Sonny afterwards.
Sonny then tells her that if she doesn't take steps to move Michael into the facility that Jacks found in New York City, he will petition the courts for sole emergency guardianship so he can do it without her.
Carly tries to act brave; telling Sonny that she will also have a good time giving the judge the goods on HIM, but Sonny turns a deaf ear to it. He goes home and meets with Diane to get the ball rolling on his case.
But, a wrench is thrown into the proceedings by none other than Kate Howard!! She convinces Sonny to drop the case and says that Carly is a good mother who knows what she's doing. Carly shows up at that moment and tells Sonny that she will look at the facility.
This was after Jason also talked to her, so maybe he did the trick??
Alexis is also working on bringing the people behind Michael's shooting to justice. She's already questioned Jason and is now working on Jerry.
She has called Jerry in for formal questioning, and tells him that she sees that he and Devlin had both received money from the same places and the same countries--and wants to know what the connection is.
Jerry isn't saying anything--YET. He tries to flirt with Alexis, but she isn't buying it. She lets him go, but tells Mac that she knows there is a connection between Jerry and Devlin and she's determined to find it.
Remember that Alexis was asking Jason what Devlin said to him before he died? Although he doesn't tell her, it doesn't take a rocket scientist to figure out what it was, as Jason goes to see Claudia wanting to talk about her relationship with Devlin! Try and see Claudia worm her way out of THIS one!!
On to Tracy and Luke. He runs into her drowning her sorrows at the Metrocourt and tells his wife that there's nothing going on between him and the lucious Anna Devane. Tracy's not buying it and is still refusing to let him back into the mansion.
Luke also paid Nicholas a visit at GH. Remember, Nicholas finally had the brain surgery he's been putting off for awhile? It went very well, and he woke up in recovery holding Emily's diamond ring--and noone knows how it got there.
Luke told Nicholas how to pick up the pieces after the love of your life leaves you and I think the two finally bonded after all of the years they have hated each other. Nice to see.
And with that, we have to wait till Friday to see what happens next!
