Things are heating up in Port Charles--or are they? Sonny has brokered a peace with the Zacharra family--but Claudia might violate the terms of the truce by doing a deal with the evil Dr. Devlin. Sam has told Liz that she won't press charges against her in her hit-and-run--but it turns out Liz didn't hit her! Carly and Jacks are dealing with the loss of their baby, and Patrick is starting to realize the enormity of that loss for any parent. And finally, Monica's drinking is getting worse--and is recognized by Lucky, another recovering addict.
We start off with Sonny, who has gone to the Zacharra home to offer a truce to Claudia and Johnny.
Everyone is in agreement on all terms offered, which include no drugs being transported and Sonny controlling the shipping lanes, but negotiations stall on the issue of the Alcazar piers, which are a hot commodity. Eventually, both sides agree not to pursue them, and the deal is in place. We think.......
However, (and it's a BIG however), Johnny still wants to put a hit on Sonny and tells Claudia that he'll hire someone to do it for him if needed. Claudia also gets a proposal from Dr. Devlin, who tells her that he's expecting a big shipment of drugs in the near future and wants her family to move it for him.
And speaking of Dr. Devlin, he's getting these drugs to treat Nicholas for his brain tumor. He goes to Windemere and tells Nicholas that he'll treat him on the following conditions: that noone know about it and also that he gets $10 million in a Swiss bank account.
Nick is reluctant at first, but eventually agrees to it, as he thinks this is the only way to keep Emily with him. But Emily actually comes to him and tells him not to go through with it! We shall see what happens with this one...
On to Liz and Sam and their ongoing battle. Sam first tells Liz that she's going straight to the PCPD to spill everything about Liz being the driver in the hit and run, but Liz says she'll also spill it to the media that Sam paid the men who kidnapped Jake last year in the park.
Sam comes to the conclusion that it's probably better off to let bygones be bygones and tells Liz and Lucky that she won't be pressing charges. Lucky is blown away by her generosity, (he didn't know about the little conversation that Liz and Sam had had earlier) and actually asks Sam to try again with him.
But, it turns out that Sam could've saved her breath--because Liz wasn't even the driver!
Lucky had run into Monica outside of the hospital beforehand--and it was clear that she had been drinking. He gently told her that he knew the signs as a recovering addict himself and that she needed to get help--or else he would turn her into Dr. Ford.
Monica, in total denial, accused Lucky of helping Tracy to blackmail her because Tracy is married to his father and denied having any problem at all.
Things are about to get worse for Dr. Quartermaine--as Spinelli has unearthed evidence proving that she was the driver who hit Sam that night. We don't know what that evidence is yet, but it was enough for Jason to be convinced.
Jason actually went to the Q mansion and confronted Monica with this information.
Finally, Carly and Jacks and the loss of their baby. Sadly, Carly did suffer a miscarriage due to be caught in the Cannery explosion--and an ultrasound confirmed it. What I want to know is, where is her baby? Did she have it in her bed? Noone's saying!
Patrick walks into her room, wanting to run one more test--but Carly tells him of the loss, which blows him away. He tells Liz that he finally realizes what a huge loss that is for a parent. Sounds like he's growing up!
And with that, we'll have to wait till Monday to see what happens!
