General Hospital Update for Friday, 14-Mar-2008

You know how the pot simmers and then bursts? Well, that's exactly what happened in Port Charles today, literally! The tension at the old Cannery kept building and building until finally the whole building exploded--with several Port Charles residents in it.
Almost forgot to mention that Sam has been suspended from Everyday Heroes, (not to worry, Alexis is on the job), Logan might be waking up from his coma and Liz came clean to Lucky about possibly hitting Sam.
We start off with the stories that climaxed at the Cannery--the biggest one being that Michael is back home and called his mother to meet him there.
He begged Carly not to say anything to Sonny about it and told her why he could never see him again. Carly's joy at seeing her son quickly turned to anger when she heard the whole story from him--how he ran when he realized that he had shot Kate Howard and didn't bother to call for help for her.
And while this is going on, we see the timer for the bombs in the Cannery (all set by Diego)--and the clock is ticking....
Next, Rick gets a panic call from Marianna, begging for his help. He meets her at the Cannery, where she shows him the lifeless body of Randy, her tormentor. Rick bends down and realizes that his girlfriend is in a whole lot of trouble.
And still, the timers for the bombs keep ticking...
Finally, Claudia sets up a meeting with Sonny at the Cannery. She's offered a trade--Johnny for the Zacharra family's St. Lawrence Seaway shipping lanes. Trevor overhears her making contact with Sonny and brings his snipers to the Cannery, with instructions to take out Claudia.

Moving on to Sam, who's recuperating at GH from her injuries. She gets a visit from Wes, who's the new producer of Everyday Heroes. Wes tells her that the show will be resuming shooting in Hawaii in another week--without Sam, who's been suspended due to not being physically up to the show's demands.
While Sam is reeling from this annoucement, Wes says that they have a perfect replacement--Tiffany, a beauty queen. Alexis hears this and tells Wes to have the network lawyers call her. And we know this one is going to be good, right?
On to Logan, who is still on life support and in a coma. Lulu hasn't left his bedside and is happy to see that Logan actually tried to grab her hand. The doctor examines him and says there's nothing conclusive to see yet. And it was interesting to see Luke come into this scene in a wheelchair to be with Lulu. Did I read somewhere that Tony Geary had knee surgery?
Finally, Liz. Lucky has done some checking and has concluded, that yes, there is a possibility that Liz could have been the driver that hit Sam. He confronts her with this information and asks why she didn't come forward with it.
Liz, who is better at playing the victim than anyone in Port Charles, imho, plays the Jake card, saying that if she was arrested and thrown into the clink, she'd lose custody, yada yada...and Lucky buys it! I wish he'd grow a brain, sometimes...
That's about all that happened. Can't wait to see who makes it through the explosion!
