General Hospital Update for Friday, 29-Feb-2008

And it's hard to believe that February sweeps end today! And can we say Friday cliffhanger or what?
Liz, Diego and Sam's lives are literally teetering on the brink and of course, Jason is on the job. Maxie and Spinelli are also hot on the trail of the Text Message Killer, but are a day late and a dollar short. And I almost forgot to say that Joe and Angie's baby daughter was born--but sadly, Joe will have to raise her as a single father. And bringing up the rear, we have Lulu coming face-to-face with Claudia Zacchara, and Robin confirming to Patrick what he had suspected for awhile--he is the father of her baby.
We start with Diego, who as we know is the Text Message Killer. He's got Liz chained to the roof of his car, and also has Sam tied up in the trunk, as they all go for a ride. Liz wakes up and starts fighting with him, causing him to almost drive through a guard railing--leaving their car to teeter off a bridge over a raging waterfall.
Liz knocks out Diego, and is able to find the key to her handcuffs in his pocket. She frees herself, but quickly realizes it's going to be tough getting out of the car, as her getting out could send it over the edge. She also hears Sam moaning in the trunk, and is figuring out a way to get to her.
Meanwhile, Lucky is driving by, sees the car, and radios for an ambulance and a backup. Liz sees him, but Diego wakes up just in time, shooting Lucky as he walks towards the car.
But noone there realizes that Jason is indeed on the scene and to the rescue again!! He had searched Sam's apartment and found her new cell phone, which had recorded Diego and Sam's fight, and realized that he was the TM Killer. He also correctly deduced that Diego was heading to the bridge, as that is where he had dumped Alcazar's body last year. So Jason as usual, is saving the day...
And back in Port C, Maxie and Spinelli are also hot on the case, but are still down in the PC sewers, where Diego was last week. They're having a problem with getting past a gate into his hideout and as we left them, a gate on the other side of them came down, so they're not making much progress.
Over at General Hospital, Joe and Angie's baby was born. It's a girl, but sadly, there were complications and the doctors weren't able to keep Angie alive.
Robin volunteers to give Joe the bad news and brings him his daughter to hold in the nursery. Joe is overcome, and realizes that him holding hostages in the ER didn't help matters at all--as when he goes to trial, he will probably have to go to prison, meaning that there will be nobody to raise his daughter.
Patrick watches Robin holding Joe's baby in the nursery and is even more convinced that he could be the father of Robin's baby.
He beats around the bush with her for awhile as she's leaving GH, and finally comes out and asks it: Is he the father of her baby? Robin thinks for awhile and confirms the truth to him.
Finally, Lulu and her meeting with Claudia. Lulu has gone to Claudia and Johnny's home, and asks Claudia where Johnny could be. (Noone knows that Sonny has him stashed away in that former psych hospital). They introduce themselves to each other, and Claudia tells Lulu that she could do something for her.
Lulu goes over to GH, where Sonny is sitting with Kate, and asks him where Johnny is. Sonny tells her that Johnny will be back when Michael is safe--and Claudia steps forward, saying that now she knows that Sonny has Johnny.
Claudia decides that payback can stink and goes into Kate's room when Sonny is distracted--and tells Kate that they both have something in common, as they have both slept with Sonny!! Ouch!! And with that, we'll have to wait till Monday to see what happens next!!
